My Watch Servicing Process

Servicing a vintage watch is an art that blends precision, dedication, and respect for history. Here’s a detailed breakdown of the steps I take to ensure your timepiece is restored to its best possible condition:

1. Initial Inspection

I begin by taking into account customer testimony of any known issues to help diagnose and troubleshoot problems with the watch. I then perform a detailed external examination to assess the overall condition, functionality, and any apparent defects.

2. Movement Disassembly

The watch movement is carefully disassembled, piece by piece. Each part of the movement is inspected for wear, flaws, or issues to determine if replacements or repairs are necessary.

3. Cleaning Process

Each component undergoes a multi-stage chemical cleaning and brightening process to remove old oils, dirt, and contaminants. This ensures every part is spotless and ready for reassembly.

4. Repairs & Replacements

I prioritize keeping all parts original. However, if a component is beyond repair, I source authentic replacements to maintain the integrity of the watch.

5. Lubrication

High-quality lubricants and greases, differing per recommended factory standards, are applied to the movement during reassembly. This reduces friction and ensures smooth operation.

6. Testing & Regulation

Each watch is tested in six positions to ensure consistent accuracy and performance. Adjustments are made to bring timekeeping within the manufacturer’s specifications.

8. Case Restoration

At the customer’s request, the watch case can be polished. However, I respect the vintage feel of time-worn wounds, which show character and timelessness. Polishing is always optional to preserve the watch’s authenticity.

7. Quality Assurance

After reassembly, a post-service quality assurance process ensures all features and mechanics operate flawlessly. The watch undergoes several days of timekeeping testing to confirm performance.

Disclaimer: Our watches are not guaranteed to be waterproof or watertight and may have limited resistance to moisture due to their vintage nature and parts. Exposure to water, high humidity, or extreme temperatures can result in damage. Please note that any damage caused by such exposure is not covered under our return or exchange policy and will render the item ineligible for return.

Why Choose Me?

My commitment to preserving the history and character of each timepiece ensures that every serviced watch not only performs beautifully but also tells its story for generations to come.
